    Kind words
    1. The kids ate as many as they picked, and they were still the best blueberries we've had in years.
      Mere T. · Google review · January 2026
    2. Buckets tied on at the barn, rows marked for the day, and the ice cream alone is worth the drive from Auckland.
      Daniel K. · Google review · December 2025
    3. We came on a Tuesday morning and had a whole row to ourselves. Hannah showed the kids how to spot the ripe ones.

    Before you come

Five things to know before you drive out.

    • Dogs stay at home

      Guide dogs are welcome.

    • Bring a hat and sunscreen

There's little shade in the rows.

    • Close the net doors behind you

      The birds get in otherwise.

    • Pick only the fully blue ones

Any red at the stem, leave it for next week.

    • Toilets are at the barn

There are none out in the field.

    Groups & coach tours

Bringing a coach? Book ahead and we'll save you rows.

For tour groups, schools and clubs of 15 or more. Coaches park free at the gate, and we have Chinese-speaking staff in the weekend.

    FAQ

    Questions we get every day.

    Do I need to book?

No, just turn up. Groups of 15 or more, please book ahead.

    What happens if it rains?

We close in heavy rain, because wet berries don't keep. The top of this page says whether we're open by 7:30 each morning.

Can I buy blueberries already picked?

Yes. The barn shop sells punnets picked that morning, $14 for 500g. They freeze well too: just don't wash them first.

Is it OK for prams and wheelchairs?

The main path is firm gravel and works for both. The rows themselves are narrow grass and harder going.

Are you open over Christmas and New Year?

We close on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. The rest of the holidays we're open, weather permitting.
